Chemical Peels
Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Houston and Lake Jackson, TX

Shed the dull, damaged layers of the past to reveal a brighter, smoother future.
Your skin is constantly renewing itself, but as we age, that process slows down. Dead skin cells, sun damage, and environmental pollutants accumulate on the surface, leaving your complexion looking dull, tired, or uneven.
At Town & Country Plastic Surgeons + Medspa, we offer a curated portfolio of medical-grade chemical peels. Unlike the superficial “buffing” you might receive at a day spa, our treatments use potent, clinically proven acids to penetrate deeper, stimulate true cellular turnover, and correct stubborn skin concerns.

How Chemical Peels Work
A chemical peel is a form of accelerated exfoliation. We apply a specialized solution to the skin that dissolves the bonds holding dead skin cells together. Over the following days, this top layer gently sheds, triggering your body’s natural healing response to produce fresh, new skin that is smoother, tighter, and more even in tone.
We treat the full spectrum of skin concerns:
- Pigmentation: Melasma, sun spots, and age spots.
- Texture: Fine lines, rough patches, and large pores.
- Acne: Active breakouts and post-acne scarring.
- Aging: Loss of elasticity and brightness.
We categorize our peels by “Social Downtime”—the amount of time you may experience visible peeling.
1. The “Lunchtime” Peels (Light Depth)
Little to no downtime. Perfect for a quick glow before an event.
The “Red Carpet” Peel (ZO® Stimulator / SkinCeuticals® Micropeel) A gentle blend of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA) like glycolic or lactic acid.
- Best For: Dullness, mild texture issues, and first-time peel patients.
- The Experience: You may experience mild tingling but virtually no visible peeling. You leave with an immediate “glow.”
Obagi Blue Peel RADIANCE® A salicylic acid-based peel that provides tighter, smoother, brighter-looking skin after just one use.
- Best For: Acne-prone skin and general resurfacing.
2. The “Transformation” Peels (Medium Depth)
3–7 days of peeling. Ideal for correcting visible damage.
The VI Peel® Collection The VI Peel is our most popular choice because it is virtually painless and safe for all skin tones (including darker complexions). It features a synergistic blend of TCA, Retinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Phenol, and Vitamin C.
- VI Peel Original: For anti-aging and tone.
- VI Peel Precision Plus: Specifically formulated for stubborn melasma and hyperpigmentation.
- VI Peel Purify: Contains Benzoyl Peroxide to target active acne and oily skin.
SkinCeuticals® TCA Peel Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) is the gold standard for correcting sun damage. This peel goes deeper to soften fine lines and lift dark spots.
3. The “Deep Restoration” Peels (Advanced Depth)
7+ days of peeling. Significant results for deep wrinkles and scars.
Obagi Blue Peel® (Original) A highly customizable TCA peel performed under medical supervision. The “Blue” base allows our providers to control the depth of penetration precisely.
- Best For: Deep wrinkles, significant laxity, and severe sun damage.
- Note: This peel typically requires a pre-treatment regimen (such as Obagi Nu-Derm®) to condition the skin for optimal results.
The Recovery Process: What to Expect
Recovery varies by peel depth, but the general timeline for a medium-depth peel (like the VI Peel) is as follows:
- Days 1–2: Skin feels tight and looks bronzed or slightly red (like a sunburn). It is generally safe to wear makeup.
- Day 3: Peeling begins, typically starting around the mouth and nose.
- Days 3–5: Peak peeling occurs. It is crucial not to pick or pull at the skin; let it shed naturally to avoid scarring.
- Day 7: Peeling is usually complete, revealing fresh, baby-soft skin underneath.
Safety & Expertise
Your face is in expert hands.
- Medical Oversight: Chemical peels are medical procedures. Our aesthetic team is supervised by board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Scott Yarish and Dr. Amita Parikh.
- Customization: We don’t just apply a solution; we analyze your skin type and history to select the acid and strength that ensures safety and efficacy.
- Safe for All: We specialize in peels (like the VI Peel) that are safe for melanin-rich skin, reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
