Sometimes the journey needs a second chapter

You know it is time when you catch yourself constantly adjusting your clothing, trying to create a balanced silhouette because your implants have shifted or changed over time. You may avoid certain activities you once enjoyed, or find yourself researching complications online, wondering if what you are feeling is “normal.”

At Town & Country Plastic Surgeons + Medspa, we understand that breast revision isn’t about failure—it’s about evolution. Many women come to us because their needs have changed, their aesthetic goals have matured, or complications have developed. Led by Dr. Scott Yarish and Dr. Janak Parikh, we view revision as an opportunity to use our experience and advanced technology to finally achieve the result you should have had all along.

Before and After Photos

When to Consider Revision

The decision to pursue revision often crystallizes when you realize how much mental energy you devote to managing your concerns. Whether you are dealing with a medical complication or simply an aesthetic change, we specialize in correcting:

Capsular Contracture (Hardness)

  • The Issue: The body naturally forms a capsule of scar tissue around any implant. In some cases, this scar tissue tightens and squeezes the implant, causing the breast to feel hard, look distorted, or become painful.
  • The Fix: We perform a Capsulectomy to remove the hardened scar tissue and often replace the implant, restoring softness and natural movement.

Implant Rupture (Deflation or Silent Leaks)

  • The Issue: Saline implants deflate visibly when they rupture. Silicone implants may have a “silent” rupture where the gel remains contained but the breast shape changes slightly or feels different.
  • The Fix: We remove the compromised implant and any leaked material, replacing it with a modern, cohesive gel implant (often called “Gummy Bear” implants) that offers superior durability and safety.

“Double Bubble” & “Snoopy” Deformity

  • The Issue:
  • Double Bubble: The implant drops below the natural breast crease, creating a second “bulge” at the bottom.
  • Snoopy Effect: The breast tissue slides off the front of the implant and droops (like Snoopy’s nose), leaving the implant sitting high and the nipple pointing down.
  • The Fix: These complex issues require reshaping the internal pocket and performing a Breast Lift to realign the breast tissue with the implant.

Malposition & Symmastia

  • The Issue: Implants that sit too far apart (lateral displacement) or too close together (symmastia/uniboob).
  • The Fix: We utilize internal sutures and pocket adjustments to precisely reposition the implants for optimal cleavage and symmetry.

The “Comprehensive Rejuvenation Concept”

Revision surgery is technically more demanding than primary surgery. That is why we apply our signature Comprehensive Rejuvenation Concept to your care.

  • Pre-Surgical Planning: We use advanced visualization to map your anatomy and identify exactly why the first surgery didn’t hold up.
  • Post-Op Care: Your recovery includes close monitoring and specialized therapies to minimize swelling and prevent the recurrence of scar tissue issues like contracture.

Your Surgical Options: More Than Just a Swap

Often, a simple implant exchange isn’t enough to get the “ideal” result. Many revision patients choose to combine procedures for complete harmony:

  • Breast Lift + Revision: To address sagging skin that has developed since your original surgery.
  • Fat Grafting: We can harvest fat from your body and inject it around the edges of the implant to camouflage rippling or fix indentations, creating a softer, more natural transition.
  • Mommy Makeover Revision: Combining your breast correction with abdominal contouring to restore your entire figure.

Recovery & Expectations

We believe in total transparency regarding your recovery.

  • The Timeline: Most clients experience manageable discomfort and resume normal activities within 1–2 weeks.
  • The Process: Because we are often removing scar tissue, the recovery can feel slightly different than your first surgery—often less painful (muscles are already stretched) but requiring more care with drains or support garments.
  • Long-Term: Our goal is to give you a result that ages gracefully. We will discuss long-term maintenance to ensure you feel confident in your investment for years to come.

Addressing Your Hesitation

“Am I being too critical?” We hear this often. Women worry about appearing “ungrateful” for their original results. We want you to know that any concern affecting your confidence is valid. You have lived with your results, you know what works and what doesn’t, and you deserve to feel completely at ease in your body.

“Is it safe to operate again?” With over 30 years of experience, our surgeons are experts in secondary and tertiary procedures. We utilize the safest, most advanced surgical techniques to minimize risk and maximize your safety.
