Brazilian Butt Lift

Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Houston and Lake Jackson, TX

If you want to look as good walking away as you do entering a room, it’s time to reshape your silhouette.

The silhouette you see in the mirror should reflect the confident woman you are inside. However, genetics often dictate where we store fat, and for many, that means excess volume in the midsection and a lack of definition in the buttocks. No amount of squats can spot-reduce the waist or add significant volume to the hips.

At Town & Country Plastic Surgeons + Medspa, we view the Brazilian Butt Lift as the ultimate dual-benefit procedure. Led by Dr. Scott Yarish and Dr. Janak Parikh, our approach is not about creating an “artificial” look, but about sculpting a waist-to-hip ratio that feels authentically you—restoring the youthful, hourglass proportions you may have lost or simply always desired.

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

A Brazilian Butt Lift is a two-step body contouring procedure that uses your body’s own natural fat to enhance your shape. It avoids the need for foreign implants (silicone) by relocating fat from areas where you don’t want it to the area where you do.

The Process:

  1. Harvesting (Liposuction): We use gentle liposuction to remove unwanted fat from “donor sites” like the abdomen, flanks (love handles), lower back, or thighs. This slims and defines your waistline.
  2. Purification: The harvested fat is carefully processed to remove impurities, ensuring only the healthiest fat cells are used.
  3. Sculpting (Injection): The purified fat is strategically injected into the buttocks to create lift, roundness, and projection.

Am I A Candidate?

To be a good candidate for this procedure, you must have enough “donor fat” to transfer. You may be ideal for a BBL if:

  • The “Flat” Look: You feel your bottom is too flat, square, or out of balance with your upper body.
  • Stubborn Fat: You have excess fat on your stomach or waist that resists diet and exercise.
  • Desire for Natural Feel: You want enhancement without the maintenance or feel of implants.
  • Health: You are in good overall health and at a stable weight.

Note: Very lean patients may not have enough fat for a BBL and might be better candidates for buttock implants or non-surgical sculpting.

The “Town & Country” Safety Protocol

Safety is our absolute priority. Our surgeons utilize advanced, “fine-tuned” techniques to ensure the highest safety standards:

  • Safe Placement: We inject fat only into the subcutaneous space (above the muscle), avoiding the deep muscle layers to minimize risks.
  • Survival Rate: We use specialized layering techniques to maximize the survival of the transferred fat cells (typically achieving 60% retention).

Recovery: The “No Sitting” Rule

The recovery for a BBL is unique because you must protect the newly transferred fat cells while they establish a blood supply.

The Timeline:

  • First 2 Weeks: You must avoid sitting directly on your buttocks. You will need to sleep on your stomach or side.
  • BBL Pillows: When sitting is absolutely necessary (like using the restroom or short car rides), you will use a special BBL pillow that places pressure on your thighs rather than your bottom.
  • Return to Work: Most patients return to desk jobs in 10–14 days, provided they use their BBL cushion.
  • Lymphatic Massage: We strongly recommend post-op lymphatic massage to reduce swelling, smooth the harvest sites, and prevent fluid buildup (fibrosis).

Popular Combinations

Many women choose to combine their BBL with other procedures for a total transformation:

  • Tummy Tuck with BBL: The “Gold Standard” combination. It flattens the tummy (repairing muscles) while curving the backside for a dramatic hourglass result.
  • Mommy Makeover with BBL: Addresses breast volume, tummy looseness, and hip definition in one comprehensive surgery.
  • Lipo 360: Extending liposuction to the entire torso (front and back) to provide the maximum amount of fat for transfer and the smallest possible waist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the fat stay there forever?

Roughly 60% of the transferred fat will survive the transfer and become permanent living tissue. Once healed (after about 3–6 months), this fat behaves like any other fat on your body—it will expand if you gain weight and shrink if you lose weight.

Is it painful?

Most patients report that the “donor sites” (liposuction areas) feel sore, similar to a very intense workout, while the buttocks themselves feel tight. Pain is manageable with prescribed medication.

Why not just do squats?

Squats build muscle, which can help with lift, but they cannot add volume to the hips or remove fat from the waist. A BBL changes the shape of the body in a way exercise alone cannot achieve.
