Eyelid Surgery

Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Houston and Lake Jackson, TX

When your eyes used to be your superpower, but now they are the only thing that ages you.

There comes a moment when the eyes that once turned heads and conveyed confidence become the very feature that makes you feel less like yourself. Whether it is heavy hoods that hide your eyeshadow or persistent under-eye bags that make you look exhausted even after a full night’s sleep, these changes can subtly undermine your confidence.

At Town & Country Plastic Surgeons + Medspa, we understand that eyelid aging is more than just a cosmetic concern—it is an identity shift. Led by Dr. Scott Yarish and Dr. Janak Parikh, our goal is not to change your look, but to restore it. We specialize in bringing back the “sparkle” and openness that defines your natural beauty.

Before and After Photos

The Philosophy: Restoration, Not Alteration

We know you have seen results that look “wide-eyed” or unnatural, and that is exactly what we avoid. Our surgical philosophy is grounded in restoration. We want you to look like yourself from 10–15 years ago—rested, alert, and vibrant—not like a different person.

Addressing Your Fears:

  • Hollowness: We carefully preserve the natural fat pads where needed to avoid the “sunken” look that can occur with aggressive removal.
  • Expression: By lifting heaviness without over-tightening, your eyes become more expressive, not frozen.

Your Customized Surgical Options

During your comprehensive consultation, we will evaluate your unique eye anatomy to determine the precise combination of techniques needed.

Upper Eyelid Surgery (Upper Blepharoplasty)

  • The Goal: To restore the crisp upper eyelid crease and remove the “hooding” that weighs down your gaze.
  • The Benefit: Opens the eyes to make you look more alert and can even improve peripheral vision if sagging skin is obstructing your sight.

Lower Eyelid Surgery (Lower Blepharoplasty)

  • The Goal: To eliminate puffiness and deep “tear trough” hollows.
  • The Benefit: Restores a smooth transition from the lower lid to the cheek, erasing the look of chronic fatigue.

Canthopexy (Outer Corner Support)

  • The Goal: To reinforce the outer corner of the eye.
  • The Benefit: Subtle lifting that restores the youthful, almond shape of the eye and prevents the “round eye” look that can sometimes occur with age or surgery.

Preparation: The Path to a Smooth Surgery

To ensure your safety and the best possible outcome, we guide you through a thorough preparation process.

  • Health Review: We ensure you are a healthy candidate with realistic expectations.
  • Medication Check: You will need to avoid supplements and medications associated with bleeding (such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, or fish oil) for two weeks prior to surgery.
  • Lifestyle: Smoking affects healing; we require patients to stop smoking several weeks in advance to ensure optimal blood flow and minimal scarring.

The Procedure: What to Expect

Surgical Details

  • Location: Performed as an outpatient procedure in our accredited surgical facility.
  • Anesthesia: Typically performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on your comfort level.
  • Duration: Procedures typically take 1 to 3 hours.
  • Incisions: Meticulously placed within the natural creases of the eyelid or inside the lower lid (transconjunctival) to ensure scars are virtually invisible once healed.

Recovery & Healing

We understand that downtime is a major factor in your decision. Here is a realistic look at the recovery process:

The First Few Days You will be released a few hours after surgery. Frequent application of ice packs is crucial to minimize bruising. We will prescribe eye drops and a lubricating ointment to keep your eyes comfortable, which may cause temporarily blurred vision.

Common Side Effects It is normal to experience watery eyes, light sensitivity, or mild double vision immediately after surgery. These issues are temporary and resolve quickly.

Return to Social Life

  • Bruising: Most bruising fades within 1–2 weeks.
  • Swelling: The majority of swelling resolves in 2–3 weeks, though you will see an immediate improvement in the openness of your eyes.
  • Confidence: Many clients feel “socially presentable” with sunglasses initially, and fully confident to go makeup-free shortly after.

Long-Term Results

Eyelid surgery is one of the most durable procedures in plastic surgery, with results typically lasting 10–15 years. While your face will continue to age naturally, you will always look more refreshed than you would have without the procedure. The structural improvements—removing the heavy skin and bulging fat—are permanent.
