Tummy Tuck
Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Houston and Lake Jackson, TX

When your body no longer reflects the strength you feel inside.
You have put in the work—whether through pregnancy, significant weight loss, or years of disciplined fitness. Yet, the midsection often refuses to cooperate. Stretched skin, stubborn fat, and separated muscles (diastasis recti) can leave you feeling disconnected from your own body, hiding your waistline under loose clothing despite being in the best shape of your life.
At Town & Country Plastic Surgeons + Medspa, we view the tummy tuck as a structural restoration. Led by Dr. Scott Yarish and Dr. Janak Parikh, our goal is not just to flatten the stomach, but to repair the underlying foundation of your core, returning your body to the strong, contoured profile you remember.

Why Diet and Exercise Aren’t Enough
Many patients come to us frustrated, asking, “Why can’t I fix this at the gym?”
The answer lies in anatomy, not effort.
- Diastasis Recti: During pregnancy or weight gain, the vertical abdominal muscles can separate down the middle. No amount of crunches will bring them back together; they must be surgically repaired to flatten the “pooch.”
- Skin Elasticity: Once skin has been stretched beyond a certain point (like a rubber band), it loses the ability to snap back. Surgery is the only way to remove this excess tissue.
Your Customized Surgical Options
We tailor the procedure to your specific anatomy. It isn’t just about removing skin; it’s about sculpting a waistline that fits your frame.
Traditional (Full) Tummy Tuck
- Best For: Patients with loose skin and muscle separation across the entire abdomen (above and below the belly button).
- The Technique: An incision is made low on the abdomen (hip to hip). The muscles are tightened from the rib cage to the pubic bone, excess skin is removed, and the belly button is repositioned for a natural look.
Mini Tummy Tuck
- Best For: Patients with a small “pooch” or loose skin located only below the belly button.
- The Technique: A shorter incision (similar to a C-section scar). The muscles are tightened only in the lower abdomen, and the belly button is usually left untouched.
Extended Tummy Tuck
- Best For: Patients who have significant skin laxity that wraps around the hips (“love handles”).
- The Technique: The incision extends further laterally, allowing us to contour the flanks and waistline for a sleeker hourglass shape.
Fleur-de-Lis Tummy Tuck
- Best For: Massive weight loss patients with excess skin in both vertical and horizontal directions.
- The Technique: Includes a vertical incision down the center of the abdomen to remove the maximum amount of loose tissue.
The “Comprehensive Rejuvenation Concept”
We believe that true transformation requires more than just time in the operating room. We treat the “whole body” to ensure you heal faster and better.
- Pre-Op Wellness: We guide you on nutrition and vitamin intake to prime your body for healing.
- Post-Op Therapy: Your surgical care includes weekly visits with our medical aestheticians for Lymphatic Massage and Ultrasound Treatments.
- The Benefit: These therapies reduce fluid buildup, break down scar tissue, and significantly speed up your recovery, getting you back to your life sooner.
Recovery: What to Expect
The Procedure
- Anesthesia: General anesthesia.
- Duration: 2 to 4 hours.
- Facility: Accredited surgical center (outpatient).
The Timeline
- Week 1: Rest is mandatory. You will walk slightly hunched over to protect the muscle repair. You may have drains to prevent fluid accumulation, which are typically removed within 5–7 days.
- Return to Work: Most patients return to desk jobs in 10–14 days.
- Activity: Light walking is encouraged immediately to promote circulation.
- Full Exercise: Heavy lifting and core workouts must be avoided for 6 weeks to allow the internal muscle repair to fully knit together.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the scar be visible?
While a tummy tuck requires a significant incision, we place it very low—just above the pubic bone—so it can be hidden by most underwear and bikini bottoms. Our post-op scar protocols (silicone sheets and laser therapy) help the line fade to a faint white mark over time.
Can I get pregnant after?
Yes, it is safe. However, we strongly recommend waiting until you are finished having children. A future pregnancy will stretch the muscles and skin again, reversing the benefits of your surgery.
Is this a weight loss surgery?
No. The best candidates are already at or near their stable goal weight. Think of this as a “contouring” procedure to refine what weight loss alone cannot fix.
