Liposuction
Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Houston and Lake Jackson, TX

True confidence comes when your reflection matches your dedication.
You have put in the work. You stay active, eat well, and prioritize your health. Yet, despite your discipline, certain areas of your body seem immune to your efforts. This disconnect between how you feel (fit and strong) and what you see (stubborn pockets of fat) can be frustrating.
At Town & Country Plastic Surgeons + Medspa, we view liposuction not as a weight-loss tool, but as strategic refinement. Led by Dr. Scott Yarish and Dr. Janak Parikh, our goal is to honor the hard work you have already done by removing the barriers that hide your natural physique.

What is Modern Liposuction?
Liposuction is the gold standard for body sculpting. It uses suction to permanently remove fat cells from targeted areas that are resistant to diet and exercise. Unlike weight loss, which shrinks fat cells across the entire body, liposuction changes the shape of the body by reducing the number of fat cells in specific “problem zones.”
Our “Body Harmony” Approach We do not simply remove fat; we sculpt proportions. Whether you want to slim the waist to accentuate curves or define the abdominal muscles for an athletic look, every procedure is customized to create a silhouette that looks like it was achieved through healthy living alone.
Common Treatment Areas:
- Abdomen & Waist: Flattening the “pooch” and tapering the sides.
- Flanks (“Love Handles”): Creating a smooth transition from back to hip.
- Thighs: Addressing “saddlebags” or touching inner thighs.
- Arms: Reducing the “bat wing” appearance for sleeker contours.
- Back: Smoothing bra rolls.
- Chin/Neck: Sharpening the jawline.
Specialized Techniques
We utilize advanced technologies to ensure safety, smooth results, and faster recovery.
Tumescent Liposuction (The Safety Standard)
Before removing any fat, we infuse the treatment area with a medicated solution (containing saline, lidocaine, and epinephrine).
- The Benefit: This constricts blood vessels to minimize bleeding and bruising while creating temporary firmness that allows the surgeon to sculpt with extreme precision.
Abdominal Etching (“High Definition”)
- Best For: Fit patients who want to reveal their underlying muscle tone.
- The Technique: We selectively remove fat along the natural borders of the abdominal muscles (the “six-pack” lines) to create a chiseled, athletic appearance.
Am I A Candidate?
Liposuction is a finishing touch, not a starting line. You may be an ideal candidate if:
- Stable Weight: You are close to your ideal weight and have maintained it for several months.
- Good Skin Elasticity: Your skin is firm enough to “snap back” after the fat is removed.
- Localized Concerns: You can point to specific areas that bother you (e.g., “just my lower belly” or “just my outer thighs”).
- Realistic Expectations: You seek improvement and refinement, not perfection or massive weight reduction.
Synergistic Combinations: “Waste Not, Want Not”
Liposuction is rarely done in isolation. Because the fat we remove is living tissue, it can be purified and used to enhance other areas of your body (Fat Transfer).
Popular Combinations:
- Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL): Fat from the waist is transferred to the buttocks for lift and projection.
- Natural Breast Augmentation: Using your own fat to add modest volume (0.5–1 cup size) to the breasts without implants.
- Hand Rejuvenation: Transferring small amounts of fat to the backs of the hands to hide veins and tendons.
- Facial Volumization: Restoring youthful fullness to hollow cheeks or temples.
Recovery & The “Comprehensive Rejuvenation” Plan
We are committed to guiding you through a safe and smooth recovery.
The Timeline
- Surgery Day: Performed as an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia (depending on the extent of treatment).
- Return to Work: Most patients feel ready to return to desk work within 5–7 days.
- Exercise: Light walking starts immediately; full workouts typically resume at 3–4 weeks.
Optimizing Your Results
- Compression: You will wear a compression garment for up to 3 months to minimize swelling and help your skin retract smoothly over your new contours.
- Lymphatic Massage: We strongly recommend post-operative lymphatic massage with our specialists. This therapy is crucial for breaking up fluid, preventing hardness (fibrosis), and ensuring a smooth, lump-free result.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the fat gone forever?
Yes. Once fat cells are suctioned out, they do not grow back. However, if you gain significant weight, the remaining fat cells in the area (and elsewhere) can expand. Maintaining a stable weight is key to preserving your new shape.
Will I have loose skin?
Liposuction removes volume, not skin. If you have good elasticity, your skin will retract. If you have significant loose skin (e.g., after pregnancy or massive weight loss), you may need a Tummy Tuck or Body Lift combined with liposuction for the best result.
Does it hurt?
Most patients describe the recovery as feeling “sore,” similar to the day after a very intense workout. Acute pain is typically minimal and well-managed with medication.
